Owners Comments
We have owned Serenity for 10 years and are only now reluctantly selling after a lifetime in boating because age is catching up with us and there are other things we would like to do in life before it becomes too late.
Although having the attractive lines, appearance and attributes of a "little ship" she is easily managed by two people.

After an initial season in England we decided to move the boat to the sun and undertook a 3 month cruise around the French, Spanish and Portuguese coastline to make our new home port Lagos in the Algarve. Since then we have spent about 6 months each year living aboard and cruising the area including the river separating Portugal and Spain, the Guadalquivir to Seville and the Western Mediterranean.

Serenity is a classic example of a trawler yacht and built to the high standards of the American Bureau of Shipping. With a sea-kindly semi displacement hull she has proved to be an excellent sea boat with her reliable Caterpillar engines enabling her to happily cover the miles at any speed between 5 and 20 knots and steer well on only one engine if required.

The boat has been fitted out with a large number of extras and constantly up-rated and maintained. We carried out a major refit prior to leaving England which included the addition of a bow-thruster, passerelle and air conditioning as well as the replacement of much equipment and all the soft furnishings throughout the boat. Since then a number of further improvements have been made. These include the up-graded replacement with stainless steel of all the hull ports and windows.

The same shipyard, engineer and electrician have been responsible for the boat's upkeep since moving abroad.

The large covered aft deck is closed off by side doors and during inclement weather roll-up screens can be dropped down to enable the area to be used to full advantage. It is ideal for al-fresco dining and relaxation. The aft end provides easy access to the bathing platform and for boarding the RIB carried on stainless steel davits or to use the passerelle. The forward end houses cupboards, one of which contains the domestic washing machine.

The port side gives access up three steps to the large deep fly bridge which can seat 8 and provides more storage and excellent visibility. The upper helm position carries the necessary repeaters, instruments and controls. The GRP radar arch is hinged. This top deck can be used as a sunny recreation or entertainment area, with a bimini available for protection if required.

Access to the saloon is either through the starboard side door adjacent to the lower helm position or down three steps from the aft deck. This is a large, airy open layout - teak lined as is the whole below decks area - with C shaped seating serving an adjustable table to starboard and sofa seating to port. There is extensive storage throughout. Additional features include, at the forward end a television and video console and at the after end a roll-top drinks bureau and cupboard.

Steps lead down to a full width master cabin with a king size bed, dressing table and good hanging wardrobes and cupboards. Modern 200 gallon custom built Tetra water tanks are housed beneath the bed. The en-suite includes a bath - one of the many attractive features of the boat.

Steps at the forward end of the saloon lead to a dinette with teak table to port and a comprehensive galley to starboard. This includes a large fridge freezer and a full size electric cooker and oven.

Forward is a double cabin with all the usual storage and cupboards and a heads, wash basin and shower to port.

The engine room lies beneath the whole of the saloon area. In addition to the main engines is the sound proofed boxed generator, fuel tanks and all the ancillary equipment, excepting the air conditioning units which are housed separately.

The wide well guarded teak side decks lead to a foredeck with electric anchor and warp winch. The boat is well equipped with ample cleats, a stainless steel Sampson post and fender basket.

Serenity is a safe, easily managed, well found motor yacht which has given us endless pleasure and enjoyment. She is ideally suited for extensive cruising or as a live aboard home.
