Lagoon 380

The world's most successful cruising catamaran

First introduced in 1998 and still going strong, the pretty Lagoon 380 is a proven short or long distance multihull for couples or families. By 2013, over 700 had been built! She has been through very few revisions since her launch in the late 1990s, most of these minor and cosmetic, which is a great credit to her design.

Lagoon 380 Exterior

The 380 comes with a choice of fabric or GRP cockpit roof, with an opening panel over the helm. Genoa sheets halyards and both  mainsail reefing pennants are controlled from the twin-seat helm and the traveller runs across the back of the cockpit coaming. She comes with a conventionally roached Dacron main and furling jib, with a square top main and a Code 0 rig available as options.

The wide transoms provide space below and a smooth ride with remarkably little pitching. She has the solid, confident feel at the helm you would typically expect of much larger catamarans.

Lagoon 380 Interior

The 380 has an aft-facing galley at saloon level, which is pleasant for the chef and sociable for the whole crew. Push back the sliding window and the wood shelf above the sink opens out to serve food and drinks to the cockpit.

The navigation station has a dedicated seat and is positioned to allow easy communication with the helm.

Below, the generous beds in the aft cabins occupy the full width of the hulls and the forward V berth in the forward cabin (or both forward cabins in the charter version) is still roomy enough for two. The owner hull of the three cabin version has a lockable sliding door from the saloon, an office area amidships and a large bathroom forward.

  • Tulu has been a real pleasure to live and sail aboard. Nearly four years and 16,000 miles on, I'm not sure there is much we would change! Ancasta have always been, before, during and after delivery/commissioning most helpful and attentive. We definitely made the right choice. .... "
