Beneteau is to again this year sponsor one of the world’s largest and most famous yachting races, the JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race. The event is to take place in Cowes, Isle of Wight, England on the 20th June.

Last year the race attracted a fantastic record entry of more than 1,800 boats, of all sizes and types! And for the very first time Ancasta and Beneteau took part in the race, sailing an Beneteau Oceanis 37 around the Isle of Wight to raise money for the Breast Cancer Care charity. This year Ancasta is very proud to supply four new Beneteau Oceanis 37’s to compete in the race on Saturday 20th June, raising money for Macmillan UK, Prostate UK, Breast Cancer Care and the Ellen McArthur Trust.
Crewed with eight people and Ancasta Skippers, there will be Ancasta staff, celebrity charity ambassadors, sufferers and press on board.
Double Olympic gold medal winner Shirley Robertson will also be sailing aboard the Challenge The Ellen MacArthur Trust boat for the Round the Island Race 2009, Shirley has been a patron of the Trust since 2005, and is delighted to support the Trust in the race.
