'Barefoot' arrived with us in April for us to sell, having sold the owner a much larger yacht. She arrived by road transport and is now ashore in our yard, on our custom-built walk-way and ready for viewings 7 days a week.
We have loved owning this super sailing boat and find her a joy to handle under sail or power. She is comfortable below decks too and sleeps four + one easily. We've enjoyed boat ownership so much that we have bought a much larger yacht and hope to venture far afield.

“There is an old saying, ‘If it looks like an elephant, feels like an elephant and smells like an elephant, then it probably is an elephant’. The Elan 36 is certainly no elephant, but then it probably doesn’t look like everyone’s idea of a gazelle either. And that’s the point. How can a yacht that looks and feels like the robust cruising yacht she is, go out and win the overall prize from nearly 200 boats in the 2001 Scottish Series? All one can say is that appearances can be very deceptive and the Elan 36 is, like other boats in the Elan stable, a complex mix of abilities that is able to rise to whatever particular expectation an owner may have." Rob Humphreys commenting on the Elan 36
