On Friday 30th of June - the evening before the start of the 2017 Round the Island Race, the Ancasta Yacht Club and Beneteau Owners Club will be hosting a pre race Skippers brief – an informal tactics event in the Port Hamble office.
This event is open to all competitors who are keen to gain some race insight from a seasoned RTI skipper/tactician:
Nick Ryley has been round the Island so many times he has forgotten the number. He very much likes the race because being British and so an Islander going round things seems more rewarding than going there and back. It is a great day whether looking at the island, looking at the spinnakers or battling competitors. Nick's battling has lead to consistent top three places in various classes and enough poor places to have learnt plenty of things not to do. He is very happy to pass on what knowledge he has and hopes there will be lots of questions.
For clarity the talk will be illustrated with Seatrack.
The event will run from 7pm – 9pm on the 30th and places are limited so please register your interest HERE and include the number of individuals attending and the boat name and model.
We look forward to seeing you here.
