Britannia Corporate Events, the Solent based corporate sailing event management company have recently ordered two new Beneteau First 40s from Ancasta to add to their rapidly expanding fleet.
Britannia already own Lancelot II, a Beneteau First 40 which has proven herself on the race circuit, taking 1st place in the highly competitive RORC Caribbean 600 race (IRC2) earlier in the year.
Sailing Logic, the UK’s leading yacht racing and race training school owned by Britannia Corporate Events, will have priority access to both boats which will become the preferred racing yacht for their individual’s racing programme to include Cork Week, Round Ireland and Cowes Week.
Sailing Logic have become synonymous with the Reflex 38, designed by Christian Stimson, which despite being 14 years old, continues to dominate on the racing circuit! Allie Smith, Operations manager commented “We have been looking to update our racing fleet for some years now, but the Reflexes were so perfect for the job it was hard to find a substitute. The First 40 has proved itself to be the obvious choice, offering proven race performance and improved comfort on board. We are so excited and hope our racing clientele are looking forward to having the chance to race these new yachts!”
Britannia currently manage the UK’s largest fleet of Beneteau First 40.7s on behalf of numerous private owners and Charlie Williams, Director of Sailing, observes “The Beneteau 40.7 fleet was the most popular racer-cruiser yacht on the Solent for many years, but the market is moving on. The new First 40 is faster, slicker and offers an unrivalled balance of comfort and performance at a reasonable price. All the First 40s on our fleet are fully equipped to the highest racing spec with long keel, tall mast and a wardrobe of high-quality racing sails to offer the most competitive racing experience.”
