In a meeting eight months ago, some brave and forward thinking members of the Lagoon team decided that it would be a great idea to display the Lagoon 52 at the Dusseldorf show this year. A few people had their doubts, in fact quite a few, and it would appear that these doubts were not unfounded when it came to the logistics of what has been a major operation. With an 8.6m beam and almost a 7m air draft with bimini, a private crane had to be organized to lift the 52 from the Rhine, as the show’s travel lift was not wide enough to cater for her.
Bearing in mind a 5 knot current, a team of German specialists were enlisted to help Lagoon’s in-house experts, and we now have the widest boat ever exhibited at the boot Dusseldorf Show. A very well worthwhile exercise, and everyone is extremely pleased to see her taking pride of place.
