Saying Goodbye to the Summer in Style!
Fifteen boats, the sunshine & a night to remember in Cowes.
Our combined Motor Boat and Yacht clubs BBQ was better than we could ever have bargained for! The day began as the weather forecast had predicted, and was quite frankly wet, miserable, grey and looking fairly foreboding. However, early afternoon on Saturday, as out intrepid clubbers left their home docks and headed across the Solent to Cowes, they brought with them the sunshine, and usual bonhomie which was to ensure the whole event was great fun from beginning to end. On arriving at Cowes Yacht Haven every boat was issued with a ‘goody bag’ which contained vouchers to be used in the local shops, and branded club items, before heading to the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club where the evening festivities commenced. Ancasta provided a free bar for the first hour which ensured that our club members were suitably ‘refreshed’ before we all moved through to the marquee where the staff of the RCYC provided their usual exemplary service and once again we enjoyed a wonderful choice of Barbeque fare, before puddings and coffee were served.
As the night progressed and many new friendships and alliances were formed, the Ancasta team led the charge through the selected watering holes that Cowes has to offer, before most people went back to their own boats (where we are reliably informed, for many, the celebrations continued).
