As swiss citizens, we have bought a sailing boat from a finnish owner in palma de mallorca, a combination which did not seem too easy to us. However, the whole process was handled by Hanne Niederbracht of Ancasta Palma in an extremely professional and competent way with complete fairness for both parties. Particularly impressing was the way in which Hanne Niederbracht responded to questions and requests even over the weekend in a quick, effective, very friendly and forthcoming way. For further questions and surveys, she liaised local experts which worked in the same swift and competent way. In the end, only because of her great support, we could complete the transfer of ownership and reregistration of the boat within just a few weeks, to the mutual satisfaction of buyer and seller. We haven’t met but I wanted to tell you about the exceptional help that we have received from Hanne..
Last summer my wife and I decided to buy a used Lagoon catamaran and we were recommended to speak to Hanne by the skipper of a friend’s yacht. We have recently completed the purchase of a 2011 Lagoon 450 and Hanne has helped us every step of the way through several boats offered by other brokers which pretended to be for sale but weren’t really.
As motor boat owners for some 15 years in our home of Jersey, we have had many dealings with brokers, but we were amazed at the time and effort that Hanne put into helping us, with apparent disregard for what she would get out of it. We would particularly mention some of Hanne’s qualities which were evidenced during our 6+ months of using her help.  Firstly, she has very high integrity which results in her always being totally honest and, when something is uncertain, describing it in a fair and balanced way. Secondly, she is clearly very knowledgable and led us through the complex process of buying a used boat based in Turkey, originally registered in the Isle of Man but then re-registered in Russia, which belonged to a BVI company beneficially owned by a Russian individual which we wanted registered in Jersey. Everyone that I have dealt with throughout the whole process has  gone out of their way to be helpful, they are knowledgeable, and a delight to deal with. The deal that you put together for us was not without its difficulties but Alex’s dogged determination to sell “Makonkie” and make it work for us was impressive to say the least. Hello - A quick note to say thank you for all your hard work in getting us our boat so quickly and efficiently.  We took her out Saturday and Sunday, hoisted the sails, and watched them gently flutter in 2-3 knots of wind. Feedback on our After Sales and Parts dept.

Firstly, a huge thank you to all the team for making the handover day so successful. Tom worked so hard to get us through everything with us finally finishing at about 6.45pm! Kerry and I were exhausted at the end as there was so much to take in. The boat is lovely and we are absolutely delighted to have taken ownership of such a fine vessel. There are a couple of minor points that Tom is dealing with but the overall standard of workmanship was found to be excellent and the guys at HYS have done a fantastic job on the forward cabins - so good in fact that it looks like it came out of the factory that way!

As it happens, I have found cleats in a local chandlery which fairly closely match the originals and I will fit these but without your efforts I could well have fitted them in the wrong location. Just a quick note to thank you so much for the handover day on Friday.  You far exceeded our expectations of the day and it was handled with the utmost professionalism, especially down to the little touches like the cutting of the ribbon,  photographs,  the presentation of the champagne and jackets laid out in the boat and the whole handover process made us feel very special....thank you. Just a quick note also to thank you all for a very enjoyable and informative day yesterday - it was much in line with all of the process so far with Ancasta. Very many thanks for sending your Engineer so promptly, we met him as he was returning to the car park and he explained that he had tightened up the steering hydraulic joint in the stern and he has filled the gel coat blister in the Port side interior hatch and is returning later to finally finish the repair.

When we ran into technical trouble and had to divert on our delivery trip to Cork the Ancasta team sourced a marine electronics engineer.
